The Calgary Tower took 465 days to build, Work started on February 19th, 1967, and finished 15 months later. The cost to build the Tower back then? $3.5 million.

Workmen poured concrete continuously for 24 days to erect the Tower. The record pour for one 24-hour period was 39 feet.

At Dinner time, the restaurant makes a full rotation every 60 minutes, giving diners an ever-changing panorama of the city and sky.

The elevators travel at 9 km/h. They're fast, but a little slower than the world's fastest elevator, which rises at a zippy 60.6 km/h.

Our Restaurant is 155 metres above the street. If the windows could open, a tomato tossed outside would hit the ground in 5.5 seconds going about 200 km/h - splat!

The full height of the Tower, from ground level to the tip of the spire is 626 feet (that's 191 metres).

In high winds, the Tower can sway 16.5 centimetres, or 6.5 inches. Don't worry though, it can withstand winds up to 161 km/h.
